The Office of International Affairs (OIA) develops and advances initiatives that support the University of Colorado Denver and Anschutz Medical Campuses vision as a leading public university with a global reputation for excellence in learning, research, creativity, community engagement, and clinical care. OIA partners with the university's schools/colleges and with other university offices to align international student recruitment efforts and services, support academic programs, foster global educational partnerships, facilitate research collaborations and create global learning opportunities.

International Admissions (IA) is the primary unit focused on international student recruitment at undergraduate, graduate, and PhD levels for CU Denver | Anschutz. IA is also the full-serving admissions office for undergraduate applicants and provides application support for graduate applicants at CU Denver | Anschutz.

Under the guidance of the Director of International Enrollment Strategy and Admissions, the International Outreach & Enrollment Coordinator will serve to assist in prospect management, recruitment, communications, digital engagement, and yield. We seek an intermediate level professional who is skilled in communications, marketing, recruitment, and customer service.

International Outreach & Enrollment Coordinator

What you will do:

This position is responsible for assisting in the facilitation of the recruitment, marketing, digital engagement, admission, and enrollment of international students at the university.

Support implementation of International Admissions Recruitment and Marketing Strategy and Yield Plan.

Outreach for International Student Recruitment & Yield (35%):

  • Develop and implement effective digital engagement strategy for prospective international students through webinars, videos, outreach campaigns, etc. that supports the International Enrollment Strategy.

  • Promote CU Denver and Anschutz Medical Campus in various settings and markets.

  • Develop and execute yield call campaigns utilizing student staff. Manage rubrics and reporting on such efforts.

  • Seek, evaluate, and recommend opportunities for marketing and communications to international prospects via relevant modalities for each global market.

  • Provide support and guidance to academic units on effective international marketing and communication strategies in conjunction with current outreach methods.

  • Liaise with University Communication, OIA Marketing & Communication, the International Recruitment and Marketing Coordinator, and school/college communications staff to coordinate the strategic approach for marketing themes, language, and imagery. Ensure International Admissions (IA) marketing messages and materials are clear and compelling for international audiences while aligning with university-wide branding campaigns, OIA themes, and school/college priorities.

  • Participate in in-person and remote recruitment events, in accordance with annual recruitment goals and strategy.

  • Collaborate with the International Recruitment and Marketing Lead on planning and executing annual in-person and virtual student recruitment activities, including vetting, scheduling, preparing materials, budgeting, staffing coverage, tracking, and reporting.

  • Collaborate in processing leads from virtual and in-person events; create and deliver event follow-up mailings.

  • Perform advising appointments for application support.

Marketing, Social Media, and Communication Strategy (30%):

  • Manage IA social media accounts, including content strategy, goals and metrics, calendar, and content creation.

  • Plan and execute paid social media marketing, liaising with school and college partners, developing goals, strategy, content, managing leads, and evaluating return on investment (ROI).

  • Run specific marketing campaigns as needed to promote topics such as IA recruitment scholarships and provide analysis of the results.

  • Assist the OIA Director of Marketing & Communication, the Director of International Enrollment Strategy and Admissions, and the International Recruitment and Marketing Lead with the development and design of print and digital materials.

  • Collaborate with International Recruitment and Marketing Lead on the selection, design, procurement, and distribution of promotional items ("swag").

  • Assist the Director of International Enrollment Strategy and Admissions and International Recruitment & Marketing Lead with IA website management.

  • Manage the International Admissions drip marketing mailing sequence for prospects, applicants, and admits.

  • Create and design content for virtual and in-person recruitment events, including copy, presentations, flyers, videos, and more.

  • Continually assess the effectiveness of communications campaigns using A/B testing, data gathering, and analysis. Provide reports to the Director of International Enrollment Strategy and Admissions on data and potential innovative strategies and content.

Customer Service and Admissions Processes for International Students (25%):

  • Advise and counsel prospects, applicants, and admitted students on university admission and enrollment policies and procedures via email, phone, and in-person and virtual advising appointments.

  • Process student applications and occasionally evaluate foreign academic credentials according to established CU Denver procedures and recognized best practices.

  • Liaise with others within and outside OIA, especially other admissions offices and International Marketing and Communications, to address admissions-related needs and requests.

  • Serve on the International Admissions Committee.

  • Review scholarship applications for additional merit awards.

  • Manage the reporting of new and continuing international student scholarships in conjunction with the IA team and the Financial Aid & Scholarships Office.

  • Support the International Recruitment & Marketing Lead in managing international recruitment agents, including vetting and onboarding new agents, targeted communications, in-person and online training, application inquiries, reporting, invoicing, and contracts.

  • Support the International Recruitment & Marketing Lead in preparing and executing timely and accurate payment of agent commissions for successfully enrolled students.

Office Administration (10%):

  • Maintain complete, accurate and accessible records and process maps to ensure that information is available, correct, and communicable as needed.

  • Manage a recruitment budget and complete all necessary fiscal reporting and reconciliation requirements in a thorough and timely manner.

Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience

  • 1 year of experience working with communications and email platforms

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience working with constituents from diverse and international cultural backgrounds

Substitution: A bachelor's degree is preferred, or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.

Preferred Qualification to possess (Preferred Qualifications)

  • 1 year of experience working in higher education

  • Professional experience with CRM (specifically Slate), database, and query building

  • Experience with social media channels like Facebook and Instagram

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $49,165 - $54,340.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
