Job Description:
The Assistant Director of International Admissions works as a member of the admissions team to recruit prospective students for Manhattanville University's undergraduate and graduate programs. The Assistant Director of International Admissions will develop relationships with high school guidance counselors and teachers, they will participate in high school visits and University fairs, attend professional development opportunities. They will be assigned to specific travel territories for extensive recruitment throughout the fall and spring, domestic and international territories.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Assist prospective students with the submission of application documents
Complete initial application reviews as a member of the first-year applicant admission committee
Work closely with members of the financial aid team in order to explain pertinent information to families applying for need and merit-based financial aid.
Extensive travel: 12 weeks in the fall and 8 weeks in the spring, domestic and international travel .
Flexibility and willingness to travel long distance, with overnight stay required for international travel
Availability to work evenings and some weekends is a must
Participate in professional organizations and professional development opportunities to maintain current trends in University admissionsand International admissions trends
Understand and counsel prospective students on the Visa and SEVIS requirements and assist in collecting and documenting appropriate documents for Visa processing.
Work with the International Student Services area to assist with pre-arrival inquiries by prospective international students
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Undergraduate Admissions
Other responsibilities include a strong knowledge and understanding of social media applications, interviewing prospective students, working with families who are navigating the University search process, and participation in campus recruitment events.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent communication, organizational and presentation skills
Ability to multi-task and be detail oriented.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Occasional evening and weekend work
Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
Able to be an agent of change in a rapidly changing environment.
Proven ability to analyze data to identify trends and drive innovation within the related field.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors Degree
Experience:
Preference will be given in the evaluation process to candidates with prior experience working in an undergraduate admissions office.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Ability to sit for long periods of time
Salary:
The annual salary for this position is $62,500.00.
Hours Expectation: Full-time, 35 hours per week
Housing: Housing is not provided.
