International Affairs Assistant

POSITION: International Affairs Assistant, DSO (PT)

Effective immediately: (PT) International Affairs Assistant, DSO, Wilmington University

Requirements: A High school diploma or equivalent required. The candidate must have up to a minimum of one-year experience to successfully perform the job. Must have excellent communication, customer service, and organization skills. Must be detail-oriented and able to work with diverse populations. Must be self-directed and able to make decisions independently. Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office products. Knowledge of Recruit or other Microsoft-based Student Information System preferred but not required. Must have a basic knowledge of FERPA regulations. Must have prior experience working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Must demonstrate respect for diversity in the workplace and a commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive work environment that values the contributions of all employees. Must maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all situations.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
  • Process documents received from international students. This includes entering information in the SIS and scanning and linking documents to appropriate student accounts.

  • Attend to incoming telephone calls from international students in their final semester and post-graduation and return all voicemail messages.

  • Link all international related documents for the post-graduate office. This includes linking the documents to the appropriate account in the SIS and document imaging system Image Now.

  • Communicate via email with post-graduate international students to explain final semester requirements, policies, and processes for post-graduate students.

  • Assist current DSOs with optional practical training documents review and information sessions.

  • Maintain accurate and timely reports of post-graduate international students.

  • Promote and foster an inclusive and diverse environment for all students, faculty, and staff.

  • Perform other duties who may be requested by the Director of International Affairs.

Hours of Employment: Generally, Monday - Friday, 8:30-4:30 pm and/or 10:00 am – 6:00 pm, however the incumbent must be flexible with hours and/or schedule to meet the needs of the department and/or the University. Some nights and/or weekends will be required.
