Job Summary

The Office of Admissions at CU Boulder invites applications for the Assistant Director of International Admissions! The Assistant Director is responsible for representing the University of Colorado Boulder to various constituents including prospective students, family members, school counselors, community leaders, campus partners, state department officials, and ambassadors. This individual will be responsible for assisting in the development of recruitment strategy in a designated international territory targeting First Year, Transfer and Graduate student populations. This position involves participation in the development and administration of the international admission policies and procedures for First Year and Transfer students and the management and coordination of admission-related programs and activities. It also serves on admission committees and participates in the admission decision process pertaining to those populations. Additionally, this role contributes to the coordination of international admission-related programs and activities for all populations. The Assistant Director is expected to be familiar with and observe professional ethics expectations including policies of the Office of Admissions and codes of conduct of professional organizations in which the University holds membership.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Create a recruitment strategy and schedule geared towards First Year, Transfer, and Graduate populations based on specific, targeted high schools, crucial fairs, and events throughout an assigned international regional territory. Represent CU Boulder to a broad range of constituents at college fairs, colleges and universities, receptions, and other recruitment activities in the region. Regularly pull and analyze historical data and assess current international events to inform recruitment strategy. Provide admissions related information by phone, virtual or in-person meetings, and with other correspondence.
  • Evaluate the application for admission and supporting academic credentials for First Year and Transfer students applying from the assigned recruitment countries and transfer institutions. Evaluate foreign and domestic credentials, make admission decisions, shape for enrollment goals, review for scholarship eligibility, and advise students of decisions and educational alternatives.
  • Represent International Recruitment when engaging with campus partners and external constituents and serve, as assigned, as project lead for at least one of the teams key operational areas (e.g., virtual and on-campus events, communications and social media, international student ambassador program, collaboration with the International English Language Center, engagement with international alumni).
  • As appropriate manage, train, and supervise at least one temporary staff member and/or student worker(s).
  • Participate in Office of Admissions-related programs and activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We Can Offer

  • The salary range for this position is $63,000 - $66,500 per year.

What We Require

  • A Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university prior to the start of employment.
  • Minimum three (3) years of progressively more responsible and independent management experience.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
  • Valid drivers license.

  • Ability to collaborate with others and cultivate successful relationships at all levels, including those with colleagues, prospective students, industry leaders, faculty, and staff.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and use good judgment in developing solutions.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments, adhere to deadlines, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and university CRM systems.
